CATHERINE LATSON

New York artist Catherine Latson's work is informed by the very physical activity of harvesting natural materials by hand. A favorite of Latson's, Oriental Bittersweet, is an invasive, strangling vine that engulfs and consumes trees and entire forests. While making a contribution to art and decor by wrangling the beasts for later transmogrification, Latson makes an equally important contribution to Nature herself.
